I recently got this book thinking it would be another predictable romance. Boy, was I wrong… The supernatural stuff caught me completely caught me off guard, and I mean that in the best way. My book club debated the ending for two hours. We’re still not sure if we loved it or if it traumatized us, but we definitely cannot stop talking about it.
This book screwed with my head for weeks. Not because it’s bad, because it crawls under your skin and sets up camp. Kept thinking about Sierra and whether I’d make her choices. The ghost story parts were genuinely scary, but the real horror is how perfectly Tessa gets what it’s like wanting something you can’t have.
My kid gave me this after I griped that modern books are either boring or trying way too hard. This one’s different.
